أحمد الخطيب، طالب في الثانية والعشرين من عمره في جامعة مصر للعلوم والتكنولوجيا. وكان قد اعتقل من قبل قوات الأمن في 28 أكتوبر عام 2014 بتهمة “الانتماء إلى جماعة محظورة”
وفي ٢٦ آذار عام ٢٠١٦ حكم عليه بالسجن لعشرة أعوام.
لم يعد قادراً على الحركة في زنزانته، وأصيب داخل السجن بسرطان الدم “اللوكيميا” وحاولت أسرته تقديم طلب لإخراجه ومعالجته على نفقتهم تحت إشراف السجن، لكن السلطات المصرية رفضت وتم نقله من سجن وادي النطرون لمستشفى ليمان طرة، وقد أكد محمد، أخ أحمد، أنه لا وجود لأي إمكانيات للعلاج داخله.
وزن أحمد الآن 38 كلغ بعد أن كان وزنه 75 كلغ بسبب الإهمال الطبي.
لا يمكنني أن أصدق أن أننا نتحدث عن حق أساسي من حقوق أحمد وحقوق كل إنسان..

Ahmad Al Khateeb is a 22-year-old student at the University of Egypt for Science and Technology. He was arrested by security forces on October 28, 2014, accused of “belonging to a banned group.” On March 26, 2016, he was sentenced to a 10-year imprisonment.
Ahmad could no longer move in his cell and he was diagnosed with blood cancer “leukemia”. His family tried releasing him for treatment at their own expense under the supervision of the prison, but the government refused and Ahmad was transferred from Wadi Al Natrun Prison to Liman Tora Hospital, which Mohammad, Ahmad’s brother, confirms that there are no possibilities for treatment inside.
Ahmad’s weight now is 38 kg. It was 75 kg, due to medical malpractice.
Ahmad’s family is only asking for his release for medical treatment.
I can’t believe that we are talking about a basic right Ahmad and every human being should have.
In his pictures, he is always smiling and so full of life and joy. I cannot imagine what he looks like now.
