Each year, the Koranic Center in Rafid (my village) admits kids ages 5 to 13 to a free-of-charge summer school, where they learn Koran and stories about the prophet. Other classes sometimes include computer, arts, storytelling, etc… with trips to the pool and amusement parks.
The situation is a little tough this year. Where we had 80 kids on the first day last year, we got 170 this year. The numbers increased to 250, and we had to close the admissions door.
With such a large number, and fewer volunteering teachers than we usually get, managing the kids can be really hard.
Although some are remarkably noisy troublemakers, the kids are cute and love taking photographs. Here are twelve portraits from the school’s trip to a nearby park that I hope will make you smile:
What do you like to photograph most?
I leave you with a quote by Walt Disney:
That’s the real trouble with the world, too many people grow up.
